Fall is soon approaching. Are you ready to tackle that closet clean out?
Clear your Sunday schedule, invite some friends over, turn on some music or open up a bottle of wine, and take your closet from drab to fab. We show you how!
Step 1: Cull
Go through all your clothes and sell/swap/throw out/DIY anything that doesn’t fit well or make you feel good any more.
Step 2: Define Your Style
Life is too short to wear clothes you dislike. Everything you own should be flattering, comfortable and make you feel fabulous. If not, why keep it in your closet?
Step 3: Organizing
This step is probably the most time consuming. Ask yourself one simple question: How do I get dressed in the morning? May seem basic but it will give you some hints on how to best arrange your closet.
Step 4: Coming Out Of The Closet
We bet that your closet still contains some outfits that simply never see the light of day. When it’s time to answer the burning question of ‘What am I going to wear today?’ you tend to pass a few apparels again and again. Why? Well, there’s obviously something about them that just doesn’t click with you. That’s fine – lose them.
Step 5: Post-Op
Finally, separate all those pieces that need to be mended or cleaned. You might have a pair of pants that needs hemming or a blouse whose seam has come undone or a pair of shoes whose heels have come loose — set up a ‘repair/alteration’ basket for these injured souls.
