We cannot stress enough on the importance of dressing according to your body type. Women are blessed with curves & angles, and the right clothes flatter while the wrong ones look slightly out of place. Moreover, it becomes easier to shop, if you know what body type you fall under. Most women fall into one of four categories: Apple shaped (Heavy on the chest), pear shaped (heavy at the bottom), hourglass (curvy but evenly proportioned) and diamond shaped (heavy near the waist). In this article, we aim to identify and talk about the 4 styles that fit each of these very different figures.
Apple Shaped-
If you are prone to weighing more on the chest, choose dresses or tops that are loose around that area and hug you elsewhere. You should avoid clothes which are tight at the shoulders as well.
Pear Shaped-
If your hips are bigger than the rest of your body – for e:g – your shoulders and torso, here’s how you can dress! Just wearing the right clothes will define your mellow sharpness. Avoid shapeless, baggy clothes like loose sweatshirts and baggy sweaters. To draw away attention from your hips, stay away from clingy or flimsy dresses and skinny pants.
Hourglass-
An hourglass figure is to die for. If you are heavy on the chest, have a narrow waist and full hips, you fall right into this category! This look will help you draw attention to your curves while keeping it subtle at the same time. Choose clothes that accentuate your beautiful figure, and avoid oversized tees and cardigans or baby doll dresses. Stay close to your shape.
Diamond Shaped–
If you are heavier at the waist and your hips and shoulders are narrow in comparison, you fall in the diamond shape category. Ideally you should avoid tops and dresses that are tight near the waist and focus on accentuating your other assets instead. This look would work wonders for you.
